Monday -- was in so much pain from Crown that I relaxed most of the day. I did manage to get laundry done, coolers in from van and emptied, but that was it. My legs and ankles hurt so much that I could not even walk straight or cross my ankles when resting on the couch. Aches and pains of getting old I guess.
Tuesday -- Today I spend at Hobbits. She was helping me with some pewter casting that I was having problems with. Found out that my melting pot runs a LOT hotter than hers, so I do need to keep mine on low when using it. We got 25 of one award cast and now I just need to clean up the edges, buff them up a bit and drill the holes; then they will be ready for delivery to Her Highness Annora.
We found that we can make decent molds using sculpting clay, so next week we will be making individual clay molds for the second award castings (and some in plaster). We figured we can get one or two castings per mold. Not very productive, we know, but at least they will be detailed and cast for delivery. We both plan on buying more rubber mold mix as it works (especially since I learned to keep my melting pot temp down), this way we can make molds to have on hand in the future.
Off to go soak in the tub before hubby gets home.

Putting aside my embroidery a little each day, I ventured into another crafting venue; I volunteered to make some much needed Kingdom & Principality awards. I was actually hoping to have some for delivery this weekend, not to mention returning the originals to their owners, but, as my luck goes, I am hitting some mild brick walls.
I bought some Mold Max® 60 (a high temperature silicon molding material), mixed the ingredients, made a couple molds (wasting about 1/3 of the unneeded mixture). The next day I proceeded melting & pouring the pewter casts, the first ones came out okay, but not as detailed as originals; the following ones did not (one mold did not come out complete). So today I am making new molds using plaster (hopefully these will come out better). If I hit any more "brick walls" I am going to have to rethink my stratigies and come up with another plan to make the much needed molds (seems the original mold have taken a "walk-about").
I have never "fallen through" with my projects and I am not going to let this one get me down. Where there is a will, there is a way!! I "will" get these completed within the coming month!! I will not give up, no matter what!
